Performing at Bare Bones Butoh Showcase #31

  • Studio 210

I'm very excited to be performing a solo mask-movement/theater piece at the Bare Bones Butoh Showcase #31 on May 1st.

This is an ongoing piece, developed with Bad Unkl Sista and utilizing a special B.U.S. track remixed by Zenotope. We are currently developing an amazing film version of the piece, but definately come see it in person to get the full connection.

Bare Bones Butoh is a showcase feature a variety of butoh, ritual, and fringe performances in a range of states of development/completion. I'm stoked to be sharing the bill this time around with fellow Bad Unkl company member Jacquelyn Shannon.

Tickets are $5-$20 sliding scale.

Studio 210
3435 Cesar Chavez St (at Valencia)
San Francisco, CA 94110

Studio 210 is located in the former Sears Building, inset from the corner of Cesar Chavez and Valencia Street. Accessible by: BART – 24th St Station; and MUNI – #12, #27, #14, #49.
It is admittedly a little tricky to find...you're looking for a sort of loading dock area diagonally set off the street, with a glass door and a buzzer. There will be a Bare Bones sign on the door.

how weird street faire

  • Howard & 2nd Streets San Francisco, ca usa
"For one day only, in the emerging heart of downtown San Francisco, there will be a sensational spectacle of art, music, and creativity. Join thousands of people in colorful costumes from around the world, who have come together to celebrate peace and have fun.
How Weird is a menagerie of attractions, including a world renowned music festival featuring 10 stages of different styles of dance music, an open air art festival filling an expanded Art Alley, a unique market of interesting vendors and delicious food, and a platform for performers of every type. The faire is from Noon to 8pm. Get there early to enjoy all of the fun."

I will be live sculpting in the Art Alley for the How Weird Street Faire in San Francisco.

Using a technique I developed a couple years ago, I will be creating an assemblage sculpture from reclaimed and natural materials live on the street over the course of the day.

There will be many other talented artists painting live, plus a whole mess of shenanigans taking over downtown San Francisco.

Definitely come check it out if you're in the Bay.

Stop by Resurrect on Piedmont Ave during the Third Thursday Art Walk to peruse the current Spring Collection of Tigre Bailando's leather adornments including cuffs, earrings, pendants, collars, and crowns, as well as a selection of art prints.

Come get your new Spring swag, pick up a unique gift for Mother's Day, take in the art, and enjoy some refreshments with us on a beautiful April evening.

Also on view will be the artwork of Karen Marie Bloomfield. Karen creates bold, rustic, original pieces using reclaimed wood found in the Bay Area. She uses the wood as her canvas, and fire as her paintbrush.
